downtown Asheville

Chase listening to the didgeridoo... and being the lucky winner of a balloon sculpture (?) from a ballooon artist.. everytime he would blow up a new ballooon, she would say WOOOOWWW and then she was given the balloon flower with a little white dog climbing the stem..(that is Ryan in the pic with her)

there were other musical performers that were like mimes or statues, they would only move when you put money int their box...then they would become perfectly still.....Chase was really taken with the silver drummer girl and made OTHERS go up and put at least $4 in her box.

we also went to an amazing park that was built by locals several years ago, and it is really cool. Wooden and built for all shapes and sizes. Here Chase is, in a nook too small for me to get into, that has a tire swing just her size. There were castles and all sorts of stuff to climb around in. Chase, for the 1st time, did the 'monkey bars' because they were just her height. .

End of summer vacation!

Blue Ridge mountains on the parkway are much bigger than ours here in VA. .. you may not be able to tell from this pic...

Right in downtown Ashe, there happened to be a nice spot to stop our tour, so I could nurse Ollie... an artistic garden, open to the public, not like there was anyone there.. just an artistic touch to the residential garden of flowers and trees.. blue glass bottles branching off young trees..

Meanwhile, back at the campground, Chase was so wanting to go fishing, so we hung out at the lake, early before the mosquitos hit, and spent a couple hours fishing. I've been told that 'toddlers will only fish for like 5 minutes before they lose interest' but no, my girl is a true and patient fisherman, waiting and hoping for a fish. She lured in little fish and I could see them swimming hopefully around her lure... she was fascinated by that and could've spent all day there I think. She sat on a rock and watched and cast and reeled .... she was at one with nature, with a 'do not disturb' sign on her back. Ollie and I played at a cabin thereby.
